Audi has introduced the top version of its flagship SUV — sports SQ8. The car was the most powerful diesel engine of the Volkswagen group and became a hybrid entry level.
From the point of view of appearance without revelations: SQ8 copies the Audi Q8 exterior normal to S line. To suspect that something is wrong can be two “shotgun” exhaust pipes: the “civil” Q8 exhaust system decorated modestly.
The technique also surprises, because Audi is SQ8 SQ7 next of kin, and since the introduction of this crossover three years, almost nothing has changed.
Under the hood is a diesel V8 engine capacity of four liters, which in addition to the regular turbo got the electric: the latter aims to eliminate the effect of “turbolag” at lower rpm. This engine develops 435 HP of power and 900 Nm of torque.
In addition to this flagship crossover Audi was also a hybrid entry level. It provides 48-volt network battery capacity of 470 watt-hours. Thus, in contrast to the SQ7, a belt starter-generator, 8 kW power, which helped to enter the car in advanced ecotrophology Euro 6d TEMP. The machine can drown out the engine for 40 seconds while coasting at a speed from 55 to 160 km/h.
Applied to SQ8 8-step “automatic” ZF. The Torsen differential distributes power along the axes in the ratio of 40:60 (front:rear).
In the end diesel sport-crossover is capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds. The maximum speed is limited electronically to 250 km/h.
While prices Audi SQ8 is not named even in Europe, where sales will begin in the fall. Likely to Russia, the car will not reach, because SQ7 and related we have not sold. The usual Q8 with 340-horsepower gasoline engine in version 55 TFSI quattro is 5 100 000 rubles.
