Less than a week ago — may 9 — Volkswagen began to collect pre-orders for the electric model ID.3, the production of which will start in the end of the year. Though the novelty had not even appeared in showrooms, the demand for speculative — half of the first batch of cars is already sold out.
According to the press service of VW, for six days ordered 15,000 copies of the electric hatchback ID.3, each of the cars made an advance of EUR 1000. Orders are accepted in 29 European countries the greatest demand, the machine is in Germany, Norway, the Netherlands, UK and Sweden.
The cost of each electric vehicle is currently in Germany for at least 40 000 EUR, delivery of the first copies of ID.3 will begin in the second quarter of next year. However, soon after the start of sales the Volkswagen will bring the budget modification, which will be offered at a price of 30 000 euros, but it will have a smaller reserve. The car for 40,000 euros, the figure is 420 kilometres of cycle WLTP.
Interestingly, the car still has the status of a concept, its production version will present in September at the Frankfurt motor show.
Note that the plans for Volkswagen, as we reported yesterday, is the construction of a battery factory, and judging by the demand for ID.3, the decision was made not out of the blue.
